Wedding Portraits ~ Seattle, Washington Wedding Photographer

8/15/2018 09:27:00 AM

On Saturday, August 4th, 2018, the KLJ Studios Photography Team gathered in Seattle, Washington for the wedding of Helen and David. The wedding ceremony took place at 10:00AM at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 5050 8th Ave NE, Seattle, Washington. The Wedding Reception started at 11:00AM aboard a beautiful ship called the MV Skansonia at 205 NE Northlake Way, 'A' Dock, in Seattle, Washington. The Lead Photographer for the wedding was KLJ Studios Lead Photographer, Kelly Lynn Jordan, and the KLJ Studios Second Shooter for the wedding was Bethany Petrik.

Helen and David

Helen, the bride, plays piano, flute, and is an amazing singer; It was such a pleasure listening to Helen sing hymns during the ceremony. One of David's talents is juggling. Helen was the first to say, "I love you". Both David and Helen LOVE the Smashing Pumpkins, and board games. David proposed to Helen on her birthday, which is quite the birthday present.

How they Met

David and Helen met on an online dating site. David was living in Portland with his brother Tom, and at the time, Helen was in Canada. The two of them really hit it off, and decided that they needed to meet each other in person. Their first date was in Victoria, Canada (how romantic!!!). That night, after heading home from the best date ever, Helen told her mother, "That is the man I'm going to marry." These two are perfect together!

Ceremony

The wedding was a traditional Catholic wedding. They honored the majority of Catholic traditions throughout the ceremony. Our favorite part was when Helen sang. She has the most beautiful voice, and it really gives one a sense of peace. Her singing rang sweetly throughout the church and was a pleasure to hear.

Group Portraits

Helen has an amazing family. They made it very easy to organize for group portraits. We saw some of the most adorable children we have ever seen in our lives. Gregory just loved playing peek-a-boo with Kelly Lynn which helped to get some really great smiling portraits. The Linz family were pros at the group wedding portraits; they knew exactly where to stand and what to do, and all fell into position without us having to say anything or give any direction. It was truly a wedding miracle.

Reception

We loved this reception, as the couple's dance instructor actually taught everyone to waltz before the Bride and Groom did their first dance as husband and wife, and then everybody was ready to join in dancing! The cake looked so pretty that nobody wanted to cut it, but finally the couple decided that everyone there deserved to have a piece, so after a bit of an emotional cake struggle, the cake was cut, and the wedding party was served. Nobody would have blamed them if they decided not to cut the cake, but we are glad they did as the cake was delicious! Notably, the reception was on a boat, the MV Skansonia, in the Seattle Harbor. It provided some amazing views of the Seattle Space Needle.

Thank you so much David and Helen for choosing KLJ Studios to photograph your wedding day. We can't wait for you to see your photos! They are perfect, just like the two of you.
