Worldwide Photographer Day ~ Woodland, California Family Portrait Photographer

Along with photographers worldwide, I am celebrating World Photo Day by posting one of my favorite photos.

World Photo Day is an international photography event on August 19th that celebrates the passion for photography in our communities. Capturing high quality photos has been made even easier with the advent of smart phones. To celebrate World Photo Day go out and take a photo of your favorite things, or capture an image of something you are passionate about.

When you see images in the news, or on your computer, it is sometimes easy to forget about the impact a good photo can have. Even the best writer may not be able to capture the emotions of war, or triumph, or celebration that way a photo can. What’s the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”?

With photos you can enjoy and learn about other countries and cultures, see the glory of winning a gold medal, share the sorrow of a war torn country, all without leaving your home.

As it says on the official World Photo Day website, “We live in a world full of passionate people and beautiful places. A photograph is more than just a picture, it’s a story. Share yours.” Check it out at:

Join me and thousands of other professional photographers and post a photo that tells your story.
Just remember these wise words by Alfred Stieglitz:
"It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter."

The best photos are those where you have a connection with the subject, the event, or the location. So, click away and enjoy the results!
