We recently fulfilled a request by Mojo’s manager/owner, Christy Hayes, to help out with some interior shots of the restaurant. While there, we realized what a great venue for wedding receptions and other events Mojo’s/Kitchen428 would be.
Any long time resident of Woodland, CA remembers the old Morrison’s Upstairs. It was always the “it” restaurant to go to for prom or special occasions. Unfortunately, Morrison’s closed in October, 2010.
The Jackson building, home to both the old Morrison’s and the new Mojo’s, was built in 1891 as luxury apartments. It was eventually renovated in 1985 to become Morrison’s Upstairs. Renovated once more in 2012, the building now houses Mojo’s Lounge and Kitchen428 restaurant.
It’s worth mentioning the history of this beautiful building because the charming architectural details have been maintained and add to the ambiance.
There are several ways you can utilize Mojo’s as a venue.
There is a dog-friendly patio location to host bridal showers and bachelorette parties in mild weather. The upstairs location can seat up to 50 guests for a sit down dinner. So if you are having a smaller event, such as a shower, or birthday party, this is the ideal venue for you.
Christy says the events will be served the same great food that you find in the restaurant; fresh, seasonal items. And if you already have a venue, no problem! Mojo’s also offers off-site catering with the same great food.
We like to support local businesses and vendors and the customers’ support for Mojo’s is apparent if these excellent reviews on TripAdvisor are anything to go by. In turn, Mojo’s lends its support to Woodland by hosting events like Food Truck Mania and open mike nights for local talent.
